Clinical Practice
Dr Mini Zachariah is an established and highly experienced Specialist Gynaecologist in Perth and provides consultation and treatment for all general gynaecological problems. She has a special interest and expertise in advanced complex laparoscopic surgery and the management of endometriosis. Dr Zachariah also specialises in surgical treatment of uterovaginal prolapse, medical and surgical treatment of menstrual disorders and fibroids, colposcopy and subfertility assessment and management including assisted reproduction. Her other areas of interest include menopause.
Background & Training
Dr Zachariah obtained her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK before taking up a Consultant position at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Perth in 2007 where she was the Director of Emergency Department for 5 years in addition to being a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. She obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in addition to her Fellowship with the RCOG, UK.
Dr Zachariah had extensive training in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical techniques under the preceptorship of the late Mr Jonathan Frappell (Past President of British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy). She was also fortunate to receive training under the former RCOG President, Mr Tony Falconer.
Professional roles and memberships
Dr Zachariah works in private gynaecological practice at Hollywood Hospital. She is a member of the Fertility specialists at Concept Fertility Centre. Dr Zachariah is accredited at SJOG Subiaco, Mount Lawley, as well as Bethesda Hospital. She continues as a part-time Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in the public sector at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
Dr Zachariah is a training program supervisor for O&G specialist trainees with the RANZCOG and a Senior Clinical Lecturer for the medical students at UWA. She is a member of a number of professional organisations, including the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society, the World Endometriosis Society, AAGL, the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand, the Australasian Menopause Society and the Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cytopathology.
